Cultivating community: May's Grower of the month

Elevated Botanicals & Home Growers University, our Grower of the Month isn’t about who pulled the biggest harvest or grew the flashiest plants…

It’s about something deeper.

It’s about the grower who keeps showing up—even when things don’t go as planned. The one who learns through every mistake, every setback, and every lesson the plant teaches.

Because real growth doesn’t come from perfection… it comes from persistence.

It comes from love for the plant.

From patience.

From putting in the time, asking questions, and staying committed to getting better every single run.

This spotlight is for those who respect the process, trust the journey, and continue to grow—not just plants, but themselves.

🌱 This is what our community stands for..

More than just plants: A labor of love

Here, we spotlight the heart of the homegrowing community. It's not about the biggest yield or the most exotic strain; it's about the unwavering love, the continuous learning, and the resilience shown in overcoming every obstacle. Every grower has a unique journey, and we're here to celebrate them all, from beginners to seasoned cultivators who give the most love and learn through every challenge.

I'm Karen, I'm 49 & I live in Minnesota. I've been growing for about 10 years. I started growing in my backyard in 2016 & did pretty well so any time I'd find a seed in a bag I'd save it & plant it to see what I could get. I've been a cannabis smoker since I was 14 & have loved it ever since. I've always loved gardening & I think I got my green thumb from my dad because he always had such beautiful flowers, vegetable gardens & trees. He was very meticulous about his yard & very proud of his work. When my mom passed in 2024 | inherited a little money so I was able to buy a good tent set up from Ac Infinity. I'm kind of new to the indoor growing scene but ever since I plugged that tent in October of 2024 it's been running since & I'm definitely getting better at it. I used to think I preferred the outside grow but since getting a tent I think I like that more. I have way more control over the environmental aspect of the grow. I'm more of a photo grower myself. I've done autoflowers but they're not really my thing. They're great if you don't want to mess with a grow too much. I've grown quite a few strains so far.

Right now l've got Maui wowie squared & Nuclear Forest from Dirty Bird genetics & white label Godfather OG from North Atlantic Seed Co. in seedling, they're 2 weeks in the dirt. My absolute favorite strains &

breeders are Hella Jelly & Blueberry muffins from Humboldt, Cherry Paloma from Raw genetics, Dr. Cherry from Loonatixz & frosted volcano & sour

Maui from Dirty Bird genetics. I'm super proud to be able to provide my own natural medicine besides being a female grower, you don't see too many out there & I think I've done pretty well so far. Happy growing y'all!
